My mother just said, "You had us worried when you started to be a marshmellow. We thought you were a steak, honey. You were acting all sticky...."

Any thoughts on what that is supposed to mean?

Hey Amy! Okay, I have an idea, but I think I may be completely off base...maybe she means that she thought you were strong like steak (or cow, or like people who eat cow) but really, you are as soft as a marshmallow! But really, other than that stab in the dark, I have no clue. Have fun in Sao Paulo! I heard that the airlines and airports in Brazil are kinda dangerous when it comes to flying safety, so be careful!

Hmm. Maybe it means you're better roasted over a campfire than grilled?
It's an odd metaphor, I'll give you that...

I think Kaye hit the nail on the head with this exception... you have been acting like a marshmellow, so beef it up!

It CLEARLY means that you are apparently more emotional than she thought you were. You've always had a gift of emotional detachment, and now you're a squishy love-marshmallow. Welcome my world, fellow morsel of foamy sweetness!

hmmmm I wonder why Christy is so clear on the subject. She must have some insight into your family.
